Who we are

Michigan Parkour hosts free parkour meetups in Ann Arbor. Everyone is welcome to join the club, including non-students. No prior experience is required!

Can I join?

Yes. Wanna be a superhero? We got your back! We hold regular practices year round. Stop by and say hi!

We meet behind the Rails at Palmer Field. Our practices include conditioning, technique drills, challenges, and a community atmosphere. To learn more, join the GroupMe or attend one of the practices.

Purpose

To foster a fun, safe, environment for individuals of all skill levels to learn and train parkour.

What is Parkour?

Parkour is the physical discipline of overcoming obstacles. Common movements include vaulting, running, balancing, jumping, and climbing.

Some members of the club practice freerunning, which is a mix of acrobatics and parkour. Parkour doesn't necessarily involve flips, but freerunning emphasizes them. We often carpool to local gyms to practice flips.

Responsible parkour training focuses on safety, longevity, personal responsibility, and self-improvement. It discourages reckless behavior, showing off, and dangerous stunts.

Parkour practitioners value community, humility, positive collaboration, sharing of knowledge, and the importance of play, while demonstrating respect for all people, places, and spaces.
